IMA Service Start Failures – Citrix XENAPP

Exact Error Message: The IMA Service failed to start with error code 2147483649
Resolution:
1) Verify that both TMP and TEMP environment variables are pointing to %systemroot%temp,
2) recreate the localhostcache with the IMA service stopped. (“dsmaint recreatelhc” from command prompt)
3) Set the service to run as local service just to get it running (default is network service in 4.5 and xenapp)
4) install or reinstall the latest Rollup pack if you can get the service running – the latest release R04 for xenapp resets the permissions on the IMA Account and fixed the issues with our servers when the IMA refused to start.
